Medical Social Worker Counseling
Social Work Services involves one-on-one interaction between the MSA and the patient/family. In addition to addressing psychosocial problems of the patient the MSW provides assessments and interventions to include other community programs. Although the focus is on psychosocial problems, their interventions must contribute significantly to the patient’s medical conditions. Interventions provided by the Medical social worker include:
- Psychosocial assessments
- Financial-environmental assessment
- Short -term therapy
Nutritionist / Dietician Counseling
The Dietician/Nutritional Counselor provides assessment and evaluation of the patient’s nutritional status and makes any recommendations for alterations in dietary regimens based upon the prescribing practitioner’s prescribed diet.
