Senior Health During Isolation

COVID-19 is causing our lives to turn upside-down. The disease is causing many Americans to get sick, and this has brought our health and home care services on the brink of collapse. Authorities have struggled to keep up with the virus, and there seems to be no end in sight.
To prevent the deluge of people in the ICUs, state governments all over the country are issuing stay-at-home orders. Governors are following the recommendations of the CDC to keep the Healthcare infrastructure from collapsing. For many people, staying at home is simple enough. However, there are subsets of the population that are negatively affected by these orders.
The elderly are one of the groups of people that are affected by these stay-at-home orders. As providers of personal care in New York, we know this to be true from first-hand experience. When they stay home, they lose plenty of opportunities to exercise outdoors and get fresh air. Additionally, the prolonged isolation they experience can cause depression and anxiety.
There are a few ways to help the elderly cope with the challenges that have come with the pandemic. One way is by acquiring the services of a purveyor of home health care in Rego Park, New York, like IHCS. When you or a loved one avail of our Personal Care & Support Services, our Home Health Aides will provide personal care, ambulation, and exercise support. Please don’t hesitate to contact us at 718-459-4663 for more information.
